Festival PlayhouseCharles Ault started the Players Guild in 1936 to feed his family during the Depression. His creative mind and love for theatre attracted a group of talented community actors. This was passed on to his son, Charley Ault, Jr., who fully took over the business at age 29, when he had been married for 10 years and had two young children. Donna, Charley and the grown children are still doing what they love at the Festival Playhouse (shown at right).

Ault and his troupe performed at 1028 South Gaylord Street and other places around the metro area until they found a home in 1990. The Festival Playhouse building was a Grange hall, circa 1874, in Olde Town Arvada.

The Junior Players have been offering acting classes for about 100 children weekly since 1998. Acting builds self esteem, vocabulary, and creativity and teaches team work. They learn memorization skills that help throughout their lives. They become better public speakers.
