Arvada Garden Coop
www.ArvadaGardeners.org
Forty years ago, some Arvada men formed a garden club at 57th and Garrison Street. Today, half of the members are women. Members pay $15 a year to rent a 12’ x 22’ plot that pays for water, use of hose and tools, and gardening tips from neighbors. Some donate vegetables to the Arvada Food Bank. The coop will hold an open house on August 11 to share samples of a variety of fresh produce and dishes created by this culturally diverse group of gardeners, including many from Russia and Vietnam.
