Mitigating the Effects of Radio Frequency Radiation
A USA Today survey found that electromagnetic fields are the number one environmental concern in the United States. However, the American Press reports research findings that support cell phone and power line safety and ignores 80 percent of 200 worldwide studies that verify biological effects from exposure to radio frequency radiation (RFR).
The unreported research shows genetic damage and DNA fragmentation that is likely to compromise the human immune system. The compounding effects from constant exposure to RFR, radon gas in rock formations, electrical power lines and the suns ultraviolet radiation at high altitudes has not been examined.
As the media-censored information creeps into the public domain over the Internet, more citizens are reading "Electromagnetic Fields" by B. Blake Levitt and "Cross Currents" by Robert Becker, M.D. An initial "powerless" phase evolves to NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard). Some become BANANAs (Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anyone) and even extremist NOPEs (Not On Planet Earth).
Citizens are dismayed by the U.S. Congress support for installation of 125,000 more antennas to benefit the broadcast, wireless and electronics industries, without funding independent research of the biological effects. Many Americans are demanding that elected representatives take responsibility for this potential public health threat.
Some citizens and local governments have taken the RFR industry to court. One federal judge in New Orleans rejected a tower denial appeal by the industry because the wireless company was "selling cell phone services with the knowledge that they may be dangerous" like the tobacco industry""
While the slow legal and political process continues, homeowners are searching for ways to protect their families. An Internet request for "Electromagnetic Radiation Protection" brings up 40 websites with information and/or promotion of RFR protection productshead gear wired to cell phones to keep radiation away from the skull" radiation detectors & measuring devices" silver lined garments, degaussing devices" screens, shields, reflectors, stabilizers, bed sheets and canopies" paint and film coatings.
Conductive paint (containing silver or copper) is available at $400 per gallon, but the most vulnerable opening for RFR trespass is through glass windows. The price for drapery material threaded with silver or copper ranges from $20 to $50 per yard. Transparent film coatings vary in price, quality and support of independent research. Finding professional film applicators with integrity over the international Internet is difficult.
TintAmerica crew applies Vista Window Film to east facing windows. The Zarlengo home is 1.5 miles southwest of 50+ towers on Lookout Mountain.
Some delegates to our local consortium of homeowner associations, Canyon Area Residents for the Environment (CARE), attended an RFR mitigation seminar in January sponsored by the Living & Healing Arts Center on Lookout Mountain. The most effective mitigation was presented by TintAmerica, an Evergreen firm that installs window film that blocks 99.9% of ultraviolet sun radiation and 94+% radio frequency radiation.
TintAmerica is an area dealer and applicator of CPFilms VISTA Window Film Products. CPFilms develops technology for U.S. defense and space programs and is the worlds largest manufacturer of films and coatings that block RF interference.
Test data of the metallized film by Cornell University at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico (May, 1999) supports the integrity of the product. Vista Window Film is marketed primarily to maintain visibility of the outdoors while reducing color fading of furnishings. The window treatment also blocks electromagentic radiation from television, radio, radar, microwave and wireless signals.
A Lifetime Warranty is guaranteed for the scratch resistant coating that does not distort clarity while reducing sun glare at our high altitude. Relatively small leakage of RFR may continue through window framing perimeters and walls, but the primary pollution that enters through glass is 94+% stopped.
While continuing to fight against pollution from 1000 transmission devices on Lookout Mountain and 50 devices on Mount Morrison, CARE has created an RFR Mitigation Committee to help residents and businesses end RF interference with answering machines, computers, tape recorders, PA systems, hearing aids, cordless phones, etc.
CAREs professional engineer volunteers, Al Hislop and Dave Vennitti, tested several homes before and after TintAmericas window film application and confirm Cornell University research. Hislop has personnelly visited the facility in Puerto Rico.
TintAmerica is owned jointly by Dave Hutto of Evergreen and Howard "Hod" Hutson, grandson of Mount Vernon Country Club artist Dori Hutson.
