April 16 May 16: 39th Annual Jeffco High School Student Exhibition (Main Gallery) Since its beginning, the Jeffco High School Exhibition has always been one of the biggest visitor draws of the year. From 23 participating Jefferson County schools, about 500 original artworks in 13 technical categories, from painting and sculpture to jewelry and photography, are chosen for the show by a committee of area art educators. April 16 May 16: 6th Annual Jeffco Juried Teachers Exhibition (Upper Gallery) Six years ago the Arvada Center decided it would also be fitting to recognize talented Jefferson County elementary and secondary school art teachers by means of an annual competitive exhibition. If previous years’ pattern resumes, 50-60 teachers will submit120-150 entries in wide media and style variety from which the2010 jurors will select 50 outstanding pieces for the show.
